I live in a four-bedroom apartment – we have a huge TV for movie nights and a window seat that looks out over the city! I have a cosy room with ensuite and desk. It’s the perfect balance between living with a great group of friends and still having private space for study and downtime.

I love the sense of community at Journal, the staff and students are so friendly and welcoming! I was able to make friends within the first few days of moving here. I really like my room, it’s super cosy! There are so many spaces at Journal the best being the rooftop terrace and shared kitchen.

The best things about Uni Place are the people, social spaces and events - I’ve made a lot of new friends through the different activities they’ve put on. Also the location for me is perfect because the City and Uni Melb are in walking distance.

Anyone could feel at home here. The studio is sleek and modern, I love the warm feel of the room – lots of timber, but with a touch of industrial style. And the fact that there are so many amenities in this building means students save time travelling, leaving more time to study.

Carlton is a very safe suburb with lots of students around, everyone is friendly and there’s so many things to do. You get the best of both worlds – Carlton is a leafy suburb with loads of interesting things going on, and it’s only a 5 minute walk to the CBD so the buzz of the city life close by.

“I think the location of Journal is the best thing for me. I only have to walk 5 minutes to get to most of my classes at University of Melbourne. Journal Uni Place is right across the street from the Queen Victoria Market as well.”

My favourite space at Uni Place is the communal games room – the cinema is great for relaxing and watching a movie and the pool and ping pong tables are great for hanging out with friends.
