Breaking Barriers: From Student to Manager at Deloitte

Breaking into the industry as an international student was challenging, but starting early and staying resilient helped me build a career I am proud of.

During university, I secured a summer vacationer role in my penultimate year, which later turned into a graduate position and marked the beginning of my career. As an international student, opportunities were limited and the application process was not easy, but being proactive, building connections, and staying persistent helped me move forward. Journal made moving to a new country feel effortless—the community instantly felt like home and some of my closest friends today are people I met there. Looking back, I’d tell my younger self to take full advantage of every event and connection—those relationships are genuinely invaluable.
