Griffith University

Griffith University began at Nathan in 1971 and now teaches across five campuses in South East Queensland, including Logan and the Gold Coast. In Brisbane, students are based at Brisbane South (Nathan) and the creative arts precinct at South Bank, with a new Brisbane City campus opening in the heritage Treasury Building on Queen Street in 2027.

Griffith University

Research at Griffith runs across environmental science, criminology, health and the creative arts, and a lot of the teaching is built around placements and industry projects. Brisbane South (Nathan) is the foundation campus, opened in 1971 and set against Toohey Forest bushland.

South Bank campus holds the Queensland College of Art and Design, the Griffith Film School and the Queensland Conservatorium. Logan covers the southern corridor, and the Gold Coast campus is the largest of the five. From 2027, business, law and information technology students move into the Treasury Building on Queen Street, giving Griffith a foothold in the Brisbane CBD alongside the South Bank precinct.
